It is important that when making a trailer it is clear who is the victim and who is the villain. This is so, when the audience are watching the trailer they are compelled to watch through the cast that are playing the characters.
Even though you don't see our killer, we chose to have Dan play him for he is tall and slender. This shows dominance to the younger victims. Using our location to our advantage, we have used 6th form students to be the victim in our trailer. This makes sense as its about a caretaker take kills students. Traditionally, in a horror film, the killer is a male and the victim is an innocent female.

WHY IS CASTING IMPORTANT?
Casting is important because you need to make sure you have the right person playing the right role. Casting is also important because if you don't have the right person playing the right role then it could affect how your film is, it could make it look unprofessional, and could make the experience director look inexperienced.
WHAT KIND OF ACTOR SHOULD BE CAST FOR WHAT KIND OF ROLE?
Someone that looks sweet and innocent should play the role of a victim, this is because it will make the audience have sympathy for this character, as they could be vulnerable. However you cant have someone that looks sweet and innocent play the role of a killer this is because it wouldn't create a tense and eerie atmosphere.
On the other hand if you want someone to play a killer, stereotypically you would have a male that is stronger and more over powering. You wouldn't usually have a female that plays a killer because women are usually the weaker gender and less powerful because men can intimidate them.
However some women can play powerful roles as long as they look right. For example if you had a woman who was pale and powerful looking then she would be able to play a vampire.
THE PROTAGONIST-DAN JOHN
Our main character while being the killer is the typical violent person, as the trailer consists of him walking through the school walls looking for victims and killing people in his secret apartment above the school. Therefore we chose Dan as he looks like the typical villain. He is tall and slender and the main reason is because he is male.
THE VICTIMS- MORGEN TAYLOR, LEWIS ANGEL, JORDAN SMITH, JAS CHEAPE
All our victims have some degree of similarity between them all. They are all teenagers, they are all students and they are all vulnerable. However they are all different genders. We wanted to conform the normality of the victim mainly being female as we wanted to put across that nobody is safe in the school. We wanted to show the strength of the villain and that he is capable of killing anyone.
