Wes Craven (1939 - 2015)
Wes Craven was an American film director, writer producer and actor. He is known for his genre of horror films, particularly of the slasher sub genre, his impact on the slasher genre was considered prolific and influential, due to his works of horror films Craven is now called the master of horror.
He is best known for creating A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise featuring the iconic and unique character of 'Freddy Krueger', and also the Scream franchise again featuring another one of his iconic characters 'Ghost face'

The majority of his films are related to the reality of nature, for example, Nightmare on Elm Street dealt with the consequences of people's dreams, His work usually use the most comforting and safest places because it creates a more frightening environment, for example, in scream the majority of the people were killed in their homes, Craven did this because he wanted to enhance the terror that people faced while people watching these films because the film is a lot more terrifying if you think that the location is safe, his aim was to make the audience feel like there was nowhere safe and that you can be in danger even when you feel like your the most safe location eg. your house or a school.
