Pitch
Our initial idea for the trailer is based around the idea of a creepy janitor who has a disfigured/ odd face and the students hear loads of weird rumours about him and one group of students decide they want to see if one of the weird rumours is true. This rumour is that he lives up in this creepy apartment above the history classrooms, then those students end up finding out even more horrifying truths about the janitor. Also another idea we had for the trailer is that the janitor's face is never properly seen by the audience and then one scene can be a student describing the rumours about how is face got disfigured to other students to give the audience some indication that the janitor has a messed up face. We think that this idea of not showing the janitor's face is a good idea because then the audience all build up their own personal idea of what he looks like in their head. This could potentially be better than showing a messed up face because if we did show a messed up face then some of the audience will find it horrifying but others may not be as they may be scared by other things. Therefore, this should mean that each member of the audience will be thinking of something that scares them. Also this will add suspense and tension to the trailer as the audience will constantly be waiting for the janitors horrifying face to pop up on the screen; leaving them on the edge of their seats. Before coming up with this idea, we started off with the drug 'Flakka'. This drug changes people's mind set and makes them crave human flesh, (basically turning them into a zombie). We then moulded the drug idea and turned it into the idea of the janitor drugging the school students.

We took some ideas from the horror film Saw. The ideas we took was that we would never show the janitor's face. In 'Saw', Jigsaw's face is always covered up with the mask. The mystery of what he looks like will always be in the audience's heads. We also took elements of torture from this film. We want to make it as gory as possible.

We are also taking some elements of torture from the horror film 'Sinister'. In this scene, the child has led his whole family out on a church floor and put rat under a bucket on their stomachs. After this, they put hot rocks on the top of the bucket making them eat through the stomach of his family members. This extreme torture is what we want to embed in our trailer.

We are taking the location of the school from the film 'The Gallows'. This location is supposed to be a safe environment we children come to learn and have a good education. However, by using this as a place where children go missing and are killed shows that not everyone is paying attention, and not everyone can be trusted. Not even in a school.
